The key of G offers specific advantages. It is ideal for the alternating bass technique i.e. Mississippi John Hurt's style of playing. Marshall Owens recorded several sides for the Paramount Record Company in 1931. One of these was "Try Me One More Time." Owens's arrangement was set in an Open G tuning but I have arranged it in standard tuning in the key of G using a John Hurt approach. We'll use easy first position chords with an alternating bass. Nothing too difficult but a wonderful blues to play and sing.
