Tuning: Standard

Very few slide players use Standard Tuning, mainly because it doesn't offer the freedom of the open strings like Spanish and Vestapol tuning. In this E position classic Muddy Waters reserves the use of his slide for the intro/outro, and short lead runs and the rest of tune is a basic 1-4-5. The real treat is making use of the D7 chord shape up to E7 which allows you to maneuver around the vocal melody making up for the loss of one finger due to the slide.
