Bobby Grant recorded only two titles, "Nappy Head Blues" and "Lonesome Atlanta Blues" at a session in Chicago around December of 1927. He was an exceptionally finished-sounding player with a slide and had perfect intonation and a beautiful tone on his guitar. His guitar accompaniment tracks his vocal very tightly. On "Nappy Head Blues" Bobby Grant accompanied himself in Open G tuning. After an exceptionally nifty chordal intro, he launches into the song, which turns out to be unique one-chord, 16-bar blues.
