Johnson recorded two different songs with this title. This version is the one he recorded at his Paramount session ca. April 1930. It is played in the E position of standard tuning and is notable for the extended bass figure played with the thumb. Some of the guitar figures are similar to ones played by Charley Patton. Johnson's Paramount recordings were not as influential as his records for Victor, although many of them are of an equally high standard. My version is adapted largely from Johnson's record.
