In 1966 Ray Charles had a hit with this Nickolas Ashford, Valerie Simpson, and Josephine Armstead song. Many artists have recorded "Let's Go Get Stoned," i.e. the Coasters, James Brown, Booker T and the MGs, Big Mama Thornton and Joe Cocker. The playing of my old and departed friend Steve Mann influenced my arrangement. I play it in the key of C.
