Cumberland Gap was played in C in standard tuning by Frank Hutchison. Hutchison utilized a thumb lead in his picking hand for most of the song, which is tricky primarily because of his unorthodox timing. It is one of those rare tunes in which the right hand is more difficult than the left hand.
